Adsense Tips and Tricks

Most of the time, Google adsenser are gaming with the stats numbers for continuously improvement in their ads performance. generally speaking, most efforts are spent in growing up the CTR, EPC (earning per clicks), and Impressions (website traffics). The scope within these subjects are wide and it probably take pages to explain. what i will do here is to have a list of tricks and tips in order for you to start up. info given below are all based on my experience and it might works well, or bad with your websites. the main strategy in having a success with Google Adsense is always testing. test out what work for your website and what doesnt - thats the only answer for question on Google Adsense success.

Tips for click thru rate (CTR)

  • Rule #1: Blend Adsense ads into your writings.
  • Sometimes, going against rule # helps, try to make the ads stand out from the rest sometimes work. (it really depends)
  • Visitors generally view website from top left to bottom left of the screen, try put ads into that zone.
  • Test with different colors in background, title, and borders. there was once change of background colors help me to increase my revenue for 50%.
  • Dont overpush your visitors with too much ads, it might work worse and push your visitors to close the window instead.
  • Placing image at the side of adsense helps … however this might be performed carefully as it might goes against adsense policy. make sure you dont go against the rules to avoid bans.
  • Generally a 336 x 286 Large square ads works the best for me in term of CTR ..this is however, very very particular experience and it might not work the same on your websites.

Tips for earning per clicks (EPC)

If you ever feel that your ads clicks are undervalued, it probably is! Make sure there is no junk advertisers advertising on your website. ban them, chase them away from your Google Adsense block list so that it wont appears again at your site. what you want is SERIOUS advertisers that are willing to pay for good money in the trade of your traffics - not some other stupid MFA junk sites. Google Adsense Preview Tool comes very handy when you need to identify those MFA sites.

Another issues with EPC is that is your site content in the high-demand sectors? get a niche content to start up in your website but not too niche until there’s no related advertisers on your websites. i once knew a webmaster that had hard time getting his ads showed as his website is all about poems. if you are starting up your adsense website now, you better do something that relates to expensive keyterms.

Tips for ads impressions

Increasing ads impressions sometimes simply means increasing the website traffics. while there are lots of ways to generate more traffics for your website, i will put on some basics here:

  • Rule #1: Do proper SEO, make sure you follow the basics and do not fool around with the title tags, anchor text, and remember to build up your site link popularity always.
  • Get active in forums that related to your industry, speak politely, give helps, and refer your own websites to the others whenever appropriates.
  • Utilise digg, deli.cio.us, reddit, technorati… engines to bring in more traffics.
  • Word of mouth strategy, have your friends and family to help up in promoting your websites.
  • Offline advertisement - radio ads, tv ads (if you got loads of cash), local classifies ..use them whenever its appropriate.
  • Write and submit articles to article directories.
  • Get your site to be more sticky, toolbar, softwares, newsletter, etc etc…make sure you can have as much return traffics as you can.

Conclusions

If you read on my how-to guide in making a decent income with google adsense, you probably already sense that Making money from Google Adsense is not that easy. yeah, its not that easy but hey, what good things come easy in life? the fact is that making money with Adsense is not easy but the chances of making good money is much higher when compare to real life busines. with Google Adsense, you can run all the necessary biz operations by just sitting infront of your desktops, traffics data and necessary info are just clicks away, and strategy testing are made easier online. doesnt it worth a try?

We didn't get too many details, but were told initial placements would be video units.

New tandem still not in Google's class

New tandem still not in Google's class

SAN FRANCISCO - A merger of Yahoo Inc. and Microsoft Corp., as proposed yesterday, creates a much stronger competitor for online ad behemoth Google Inc., but a combined entity would still face an uphill battle, which speaks to Google's dominance of the Internet ad business.

The competitive strength of any Yahoo-Microsoft tandem would rest on each company's respective, and recently overhauled, Internet ad-serving platforms.

But combining two systems considered inferior to Google's won't likely add up to a world beater, analysts said.

It's widely held that while both Yahoo and Microsoft have won more advertising business since their ad-serving platform upgrades, Google's AdSense and Ad-Words features for placing ads on relevant Web pages and Google search results are still considered state of the art, and one reason for Google's dominance of the online advertising business.

Meanwhile, any integration of the two different ad platforms would "pose challenges" that could help delay or even derail any potential strengths from any merger between Yahoo and Microsoft, said Standard & Poor's Equity Research analyst Jim Yin.

The new entity also has to change the world's "overwhelming preference" for Google's search engine, which is no easy task.

Google's search engine routinely hosts a majority of the searches by Internet users living in the United States and other major nations, Citigroup analyst Brent Thill said.

Google sold US$16.4-billion in ads in 2007, or more than 40% of worldwide online ad sales, while combined, Yahoo and Microsoft's market share is less than 25%.

Also, any competitive gains from a Microsoft-Yahoo tandem could be a long time coming, particularly given it's likely any deal wouldn't close until next year sometime, which would give Google more time to prepare any counter-offensives.

For its part, Microsoft executives said on a conference call yesterday that it has identified US$1-billion in synergies in areas of online advertising yield, capital expenditures, and research and development.

But Wall Street also conceded that the newly merged entity could make for a much more formidable challenge, largely given Yahoo's strength in serving up display ads on Web pages, which is a weak spot for Google, which dominates search ads.

Yet even here, the positives may be fleeting. For its part, Google has purchased display-ad network DoubleClick as a means of gaining more display-ad business.

"This gives Microsoft and Yahoo a leg up on display advertising. But it's just a matter of time before Google gets that DoubleClick machine going," said Chad Stoller, director of emerging platforms for Organic Inc., a digital marketing firm owned by Omnicom Group Inc.

Google AdSense review

Google AdSense is one of the best CPC (Cost Per Click) ad networks available on the market. AdSense is the first mayor contextual advertisting program and one of the most successful, gaining publisher's trust all over the world. As the ads are related to the content of the site and are more targeted they are more likely to get clicked, thus generating more revenue for the owner of the website.Adsense is mostly a PPC (Price Per Click) network but sometimes it ads the CPM method, which means you get paid per click or sometimes paid per 1000 impressions that you serve those ads. The cost will differ depending on the ads shown or to be more precise, on the content of your website, due to the contextual nature of the program. The strength of the program is the contextual CPC side, you get highly targeted related contextual ads on your website which are more likely to be clicked by your visitors. Google AdSense publisher interface review

When you login to your publisher account the first thing you will notice is everything is well organized and everything is where you want it to be. Google AdSense has the best publisher interface I have ever seen, it is simple, usefull and full of features which make the process of ad placement, monitoring the statistics and tracking your payments status incredibly simple and easy. You can easyly create customizable reports, e-mail specific reports daily, weekly or monthly. The payment history is just amazing, there is all the information you need, from how much you have earned, when was the payment sent, when you can expect it to arrive, the number of the check and much more.

Customer support

Google AdSense has a large database with almost all the questions (FAQ) you might want to ask, well organized with integrated search. I was able to find all the answers I needed in just a few seconds. If you have a more specific question you can easily post a support ticket and you usually get the answer up to 48 hours.

Payments and payment options

Google AdSense offers payments by check (standard or secure express delivery, $24 processing fee) or by EFT (Electroic Funds Transfer available for certain countries only). Payments are made on a NET 30 basis and one thing is for sure, they always pay on time.
